Brief Summary:
Practice overnight hike. Grand Pacific Walk/Illawarra Escarpment. Approx. 30 km Mostly entry level and medium (some hard climbs). Good fitness and health required. Tolerance to summer temps. Open to Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders. Please bring camping fee $20. Opal not available. Departure dependent on safe weather conditions.
Additional Information

A series of four overnight walks from 10 to 20 January 2023 based in the national parks of South Sydney and the Illawarra. Option to join for one or multiple walks. For those on the complete walk from Helensburgh to Wollongong an estimate of our distance is 100 km over 8 days, with 3 rest days. Good fitness and health required. It will be a sensational journey. 

Please note: Any scouts returning by Train on Friday we can return as a group to Parramatta/Penrith. Estimated arrival at Parramatta/Penrith 9 pm.

The Grand Pacific Walk follows the coastline from the Royal National Park to Wollongong. This scenic walk is currently being established by Wollongong City Council. 

There are a number of landmarks and interesting features including the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge. The route is just on 30 km over two days. 13.9 km from Otford to Austinmer and 16.0 from Austinmer to Wollongong.
