Thousands of Australians sleep rough every night – in their cars, in shelters, or on the streets. This August, spend one night in your car to help change that.
“Mission Australia was proud of the $164,000 raised during our first-year event to support our national homelessness services.
Already we have been able to provide greater aid to Wattle House in Perth, providing emergency relief such as food parcels, clothing, utility bill assistance, and food vouchers, alongside housing support services aimed at families and individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Services in the Murrumbidgee Region in NSW now have funding to widen the reach of their food pantry pop ups to help struggling Australians, as well as providing crisis and transitional accommodation, and maintaining their 24/7 crisis line that supports those experiencing or at risk of homelessness as a result of domestic and family violence.” - Mission Australia
On Saturday the 1st of August, we’re committing to sleeping in our cars overnight this August – it’s a bad night’s sleep for a good cause.
The increased cost of living, impact of domestic violence, and lack of affordable housing are all factors contributing to a homelessness crisis in Australia. We’ve joined Sleep in Your Car to raise awareness and vital funds to help families find a safe home. By giving up one night of comfort, we’re raising awareness and vital funds to help end homelessness.
We’d love your support today by contributing to the life-changing services provided by Mission Australia.
Together, we can ensure that all Australians have a safe place to call home.
