intensive canoe skills workshops day 1 and day 2 are full weekend canoe workshop compressed into one day. ONLY REGISTER FOR DAY 1 OR DAY 2. duplicate registrations will be rejected.

the workshop is aimed at LEADERS to achieve their canoe skills qualifications. If there is insufficient leaders in the workshops, the spaces will be opened with rovers and venturers. no late applications after 14 January will be accepted. 

This is the LAST workshop run under the current scheme with all workshops going forward in 2021 will run under the revised National Adventurous Activity Framework. That is this is the LAST workshop to complete the level 1 and 2 components before transition. these qualifications still exist under the revised framework under different naming conventions. Leaders who hold current qualifications are not lost under the new framework.

This workshop is aimed at completing the leader training for canoeing. this is not the start of the training journey but the completion. That is, targeted at leaders who already have canoeing experience. for those who wish to obtain canoe experience further workshops will be run over 2021. 

to qualify for the weekend completed workbooks and a log book must be submitted by 14/01/2021 to the event co-ordinator. Ben.gross@nsw.scouts.com.au. no late submissions will be accepted for the workbooks.

a Confirmation email will be sent to those accepted to the course by the event co-ordinator with the relevant workbooks. a printed copy of the workbook must be bought to the workshop to allow for signoff. the completed workbooks will be taken at the workshop and submitted.

the day will consist of canoe and paddle skills, rescues and a short journey. come prepared for a day of getting in and out of the water and a short canoe hike to demonstrate skills. 

 food is not provided. there is a Cafe onsite however please bring your own dietary needs. please bring water, water shoes, sunscreen and relevant medications. you may supply your own life jacket or PFD however equipment will be provided (canoes/paddles/life jackets)
