This will be the Region's first all Sections camp open to participants from Joey Scouts through to Rover Scouts.
The camp runs from Friday evening until 3:00 pm Sunday and will be held at Hawkesbury Showground.
The bases throughout the weekend will be designed around STEM and SIAs, with the theme being 'Star Trek Survival'.
Participants: The event is open to participants from Joey Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts who are registered members with Scouts at the time of the event.
Service Leaders: Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts can choose to register as a participant or as a VSL/Service Leader running bases or helping with running the event. Leaders & Fellowship members are welcome to attend and are asked to put together some amazing activities for the weekend.
Unit Leaders: Unit Leaders (also refered to as Line Leaders) are required to camp with and supervise the youth in the lines.
Adult Helpers: Must be registered within ScoutHub and be cleared by Scouts NSW to work with children and young people from the time applications close, before the start of the camp until the end of the event.
All members must remain financial and registered within ScoutHub from the time applications close until the end of the event.
All service and unit (line) leaders over the age of 18 must be cleared by Scouts NSW to work with children and young people before the start of the camp. This includes any adult helpers and support staff.
Carers for youth or adults should contact GWS Region Camp ahead of applying for the weekend to be briefed on the requirements for registration.
All participants will be camping in self-sufficient unit campsites spaced around the park. Camp sites will be clustered by Group and District and will be allocated by GWS Region Camp HQ ahead of the event.
Catering for this event is organised within the Unit and will be subject to additional fees as determined by each unit. Your unit leaders will be able to provide more information on this and the cost will be communicated to you by your unit leaders.
Camping at GWS Region Camp is a standing camp in the same style as a Group Camp or a One Camp.

Venturers and Rovers, this is a great opportunity if you are working towards your Peak Award. Helping develop and run a base could support your SIA work and help you get a couple of meaningful achievements under your belt. Please work with your Leader, Rover Adviser or Unit Council and submit your activity base ideas. We are looking for creative, hands-on, youth-friendly ideas that will make Star Trek: Survival a memorable first all-sections GWS Region camp.
Everyone in Scouts, youth and adults alike has the right to feel safe and be protected from abuse. No one is allowed to threaten you, hurt you, or touch you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or afraid.
A Scout is respectful, and this applies to all interactions between all participants, youth and adults at Jamborette.
You do not have to deal with abuse on your own. If you feel unsafe, or threatened, or you see/hear something that causes you concern, please speak to a Leader or Rover on an activity. Your concerns will be taken seriously. The information you provide will be shared with people who can support and protect you.
If you don’t know what to do – speak to someone at GWS Region Camp HQ.
If, for any reason, you do not feel the concerns of this nature that you raised at Jamborette have been satisfactorily dealt with, please report your concerns directly to the Child Protection Team at the NSW State Office on 02 9735 9000 or via ChildProtection@nsw.scouts.com.au or your parents.
All applications, payments and e-permissions must be received by the GWS Region Camp admin team before the closing date. Any application not finalised before the closing date will be cancelled. Late applications may be accepted with the approval of the unit leader and the GWS Region Camp committee. Late applications will attract an administration fee of $30 unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Refunds for people who withdraw from the event after the closing date are only available in exceptional circumstances due to costs incurred unless there are documented exceptional circumstances. All requests for refunds must be received before 3:00 pm on 18th October.
If you are unwell or are showing symptoms of a viral disease, we ask that you stay home, self-isolate and look after yourselves. Our refund policy allows any person who stays home and provides medical evidence will receive a refund for this event less the administration fee.
If GWS Region Camp is not able to proceed on the dates advertised, the GWS Region team will look for other avenues to deliver this event. If this is not possible, GWS Region Camp will endeavour to refund as much of the application fee as possible subject to costs already incurred.
