Additional Information

The Scouts Summer Camping event is an extension to the GWS Summer Scout Fun Days event, and only open to Scouts that have registered and paid to attend at least one session.

Scouts can choose to camp one or two nights, depending on the activity schedule chosen.

Scouts will be allocated to stay in one of two places, either 1st Winston Hills Scout Hall or 2nd Northmead Scout Hall. You can select your preference when registering for this event, and we will do our best to allocate accordingly - but may need to change if we reach a maximum allowed number at a particular location. Confirmation of camping location will be advised closer to the event.

Scouts are to:

  • Have their own tents (no sharing of tents)
  • Provide and cook their own dinner and breakfast and lunch/es
  • No cooking equipment will be supplied
  • An urban night hike could be on the program
  • Clearly write their name and camping location on their camping gear

Session A: Bundilla Scout Camp

If you are attending the Friday or Saturday afternoon session at Bundilla, you will depart Bundilla after activities conclude and walk to your respective camping location with assigned leaders. Please ensure your camping gear was dropped off to 1st Winston Hills Hall before the afternoon session. The next morning, you are to be picked up by parents no later than 8am.

If you are attending the Saturday or Sunday morning session at Bundilla and camping overnight prior, you must be dropped off to your camp location at 6pm. The next morning, you will leave camp by 8am and walk to Bundilla with assigned leaders.

Session B: Lake Parramatta

If you are attending the Friday or Saturday afternoon session at Lake Parramatta and camping either of those nights, you will need to be picked up by your parents by 5pm and transported to your respective camping location by 6pm with your camping gear. The next morning, you are to be picked up by parents no later than 8am (if you are not attending a morning session at Bundilla).

If you are attending the Saturday or Sunday morning session at Lake Parramatta and camping overnight prior, you must be dropped off to your camp location at 6pm. The next morning, you will need to be picked up by your parents by 8am and transported to Lake Parramatta.
