Additional Information

Personal Development Course (Cub Scouts)

The Personal Development Course offers Cub Scouts an opportunity to develop their communication, teamwork and leadership skills. This course is open to 10 year old Cub Scouts, working on Milestone 2 or 3, and looking at building their leadership skills to assist them in an APL or PL role.

Date: Sunday, 31st March 2026

Time: 9.00am to 5.00pm

Location: 1st Winston Hills Scout Hall, 1B Edison Parade, Winston Hills 2153

Eligibility:

  • The minimum age to attend this course is 10 years.

  • Cub Scouts must be working on Milestone 2 or 3.

  • A current registered Cub Scout

What to Wear: We will be completing a number of activities on the day, with the intent that some of these will be outside, including, including a short (urban) bush walk. Participants will need to wear:

  • Scout uniform

  • scarf

  • sun hat

  • comfortable enclosed walking shoes (runners)

What to Bring: Come prepared to be outside, potentially in the weather, and bring a day pack (small back pack) with items you would need for the day, including:

  • hat

  • snacks (morning tea & afternoon tea)

  • lunch

  • water bottle (full of water)

  • Unit Code

  • Depending on the weather, bring a windcheater & rain coat.

Cub Scouts will need to bring a copy of their Unit Code with them. A Unit Code is developed by the Cub Scouts within their Scout Unit, and is usually reviewed and renewed at least once a year. Once developed and agreed to, a copy should be displayed in your Scout hall for all to see and refer back to. If you don't have a copy, ask your Cub Scout Leader for one.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • If numbers exceed the nominal limit, preference will be given to older Cub Scouts and prospective Grey Wolf Award recipients

  • Cub Scouts will need to attend the full day (9am - 5pm) to achieve their Personal Development badge

  • In the event that four (4) or more youth members from the same Scout Group register, an adult Leader will be asked to attend to assist the course facilitator

  • All members must have completed the e-Permission form and made payment to be accepted on the course
