Brief Summary:
Our annual District Challenge Camp will be a backwoods camping challenge, and is a great opportunity for scouts to catch up with friends from other local scout units. Scouts will setup their own camp sites and participate in patrol-based activities throughout the weekend. There will be a "one pot" cooking challenge on Saturday night, judged by our local leaders/venturers. The best Patrol Leader, Activity patrol, Camping Standards and Dinner Patrol will be announced on Sunday afternoon.
Additional Information

General notes:
Details of the activity -
Scouts will be operating in patrols for camping, cooking and activities.
Each Scout Unit will arrange marquee style tents for their scout to use for the weekend; however, it will be up to the scouts if they sleep in the marquee or bring their own tent.
Scouts are to arrive in patrols from 8:00am on Saturday in FULL scout uniform. Scouts will then have 2 hrs to set up their own campsites (dining shelter, kitchen and tents)
A more detailed plan for the weekend will be distributed to Patrol Leaders (PLs) and Scout Leaders, including a patrol equipment list.

The activities around Myuna Bay Scout Camp will be spaced throughout the site with patrols walking between bases. Some activities will be land base, whilst others may involve Scouts swimming or becoming wet. All activities will be reviewed and subjected to a risk assessment so they can be operated in the safest possible manner.

A full personal gear list is attached. Please note scouts should bring a broad brimmed hat and collared shirt for activities. Whilst in the water Scouts will need to wear board shorts, sun shirt and enclosed water shoes. Please ensure that clothes are brought to camp suitable for the prevailing weather (e.g. it could get cold at night, and we also may experience rain).
Scouts should bring mosquito repellent, hand sanitizer and sunscreen.

NOTE:
1. The scouts camp fee of $31 covers, camping, hire of toilets and administration costs. The leader and junior service leader camp fee includes the above plus catering for all meals from Saturday lunch to Sunday lunch.
2. Menu - Patrols are to cater for Saturday lunch, dinner, snacks and Sunday breakfast, lunch and snacks. Saturday dinner will be a "one pot challenge". PLs will be provided with more details on the types of food for purchase. PLs will also be advised of the criteria for judgment. You should arrange to have sufficient food to present one sample plate for tasting. All other meals are at the patrol’s discretion.  Your home Scout Unit will advise the additional cost of food for the weekend.

Any further questions please talk to your patrol/scout leader in the first instance and if this does not solve your issues email Rachael Degrassi (Platty) at Rachael.Degrassi@nsw.scouts.com.au
