Brief Summary:
2 day practice overnight bushwalk. Hosted by GWSR, open to all regions. Prerequisites: OAS bushwalking and camping 3 + some nights camping + have practiced carrying an overnight pack. This is not suitable as a first overnight camp. Available to 10 year old Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Fellowship, Leaders and Registered Adult Helpers. Please note all youth and adults on site require a current Scouts NSW membership number.

Please note: youth and adults must camp with clear seperation, parents can not share a tent with their child. Youth must be capable to carry their tent or part of their tent for the duration. We may have enough older Scouts and adult members who can who have spare capacity to share carrying parts of one or two tents for the younger hikers.

This event is taking place on the first weekend (Saturday and Sunday) of the NSW public school holidays.

Prerequisites: OAS bushwalking and camping 3 + some nights camping + have practiced carrying an overnight pack + developing knowledge of bush toileting and hygiene + developing knowledge of water purification.

Please note we are reaching out for Registered Adult Helpers, Rovers, Adults Leaders and Fellowship to support on these days. All adults on site must be registered with Scouts NSW. Ideally 2 or more adult members to join with Tristan and a minimum of 5 youth to proceed.

Comfortable Autumn temperatures and reduced wildfire fire risk.

Grade 4 Hard Grade, steep descent to Karloo Pools and steep ascent to Uloola Heights, some rocky track, views of the city from the rock platforms, peaceful campsite in the shade listen to the sound of water passing over Uloola Falls, gradual undulation and ascent on the firetrail into Waterfall on day 2.

A swim may be possible at Karloo Pool depending on conditions and if appropriate supervision can be provided. Please standby, if it's a yes please consider wearing swimmers under clothes on day 1. or wear clothes which you can walk and swim in. Changing facilities are not available at Karloo Pool. A toilet is available approx. 2.5 km away at the campsite.

Finish point: Waterfall Station 3:30 pm we can contact family if delayed

Please bring some spending money as we will go via the Legendary Fish and Chips shop at Waterfall to celebrate the end of the hike

Saturday 4th April Heathcote Station to Uloola Falls campground via Karloo Pool 5.1 km
Sunday 5th April Uloola Falls campground to Waterfall Station via Uloola Firetrail and Waterfall Oval 6.2 km

Water can be refilled from creeks on the route, either purification tablets or a water filter needed.

A drop pit toilet is available at the Uloola Falls campground.
