Brief Summary:
This is just a social event for Rover and Leaders to get out on the water for the weekend. BYO all your own gear food water etc. Paddling from Bendeela campground (near Kangaroo Valley), along the Kangaroo River to camp at Acacia Flat, then return next day. Paddling distance is approx 13km each day. Attendees must have completed a canoe journey before (not open to novices). Hope to be on the water by 10:30am, for a slow paddle down the river as no hurry, stop for lunch and head off to the campsite. Afternoon of swimming or chilli, whatever you like. Hope to leave the site by 10:30am on Sunday morning, for a slow paddle back. Car Rego needed for the security at Bendeela campground. No cost just a social event.

Requirements

  • Participants to organise a seat in a canoe, paddle & PFD (lifejacket). These are not provided as part of the event. Organise with your group. 
  • Must have completed a canoe journey before ( (not open to novices).
  • No sit-on or inflatable canoes.

You need to bring your own food, drinks and all camping equipment for the weekend. Everything needs to be packed assuming the canoe will capsize.

There are unlikely to be any faciltities at the campsite. Pit toilets are available at some campsites, but we may not be able to camp at these. Water from the river should be treated before drinking.
