and growing together.

Schedule

The course will commence on Friday night, with the official opening parade taking place at 8am on Saturday morning. It is crucial that all participants arrive on time and are ready to begin the activities as scheduled.

Catering

The entire weekend is fully catered as part of the course cost, meaning that no additional food needs to be brought by the participants. However, it is imperative that any dietary requirements are clearly listed in the "Special food requirements" section of the E1 activity form. Additionally, it is beneficial to discuss these dietary needs with your local Scout Leader to ensure all accommodations are met.

Medication

Similarly, any medication requirements should be discussed with your local Scout Leader to ensure proper management and administration during the course.

Packing

A significant aspect of this course is for each Scout to independently pack their own gear for the weekend. Parents are encouraged to limit their assistance to checking that all necessary items are included, as it is vital for Scouts to learn and practice self-preparation skills.

Equipment

The following equipment will be required for the weekend:

  • Tent
  • Sleeping gear and mat
  • Day pack
  • Suitable shoes (one set for walking and one set for water use)
  • Notepad and pen
  • Weather protection (poncho, hat)
  • Covered shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Mess kit
  • Suitable clothing for any weather conditions
  • Swimmers for raft use

Inter-group Collaboration

Scouts attending the course will be placed with Scouts from other groups throughout the weekend. This arrangement aims to foster teamwork and collaboration among participants from diverse backgrounds.

Leadership Presence

Several leaders from various Scout groups will be present during the weekend to guide, support, and ensure the smooth running of all activities. Their presence will provide a robust support system for all Scouts attending the course.

Pre-Course Activity

Prior to the course, Scouts as a patrol will design a raft capable of holding 4-8 people. They will need to make a list of the materials required and organize transport for these materials to the camp. This activity aims to enhance planning, teamwork, and logistical skills. This will happen at their home units.

We look forward to an enriching and rewarding weekend of learning and development. Please ensure all preparations are made, and we will see you there!
