North West Region Leaders Weekend
All currently registered Leaders from all sections across the North West Region are invited to attend a weekend of collaboration, development, and planning.
Event Details
Date: Saturday 20 September, 9:00 AM – Sunday 21 September, 2:00 PM
Location: Kamilaroi Scout Camp
Cost: Free – hosted and catered by North West Region
Purpose of the Weekend
This event is designed to support and celebrate with the Leaders of our region while giving voice to the ideas of our youth. With guidance from the Scout Youth Council and insights from your own sections, we aim to co-create a meaningful, practical, and youth-driven 2026 Region Calendar.
Key Focus Areas
Co-Create the 2026 Region Calendar: Collaboratively plan region-wide activities, events, and camps with a strong youth-led focus across all sections.
Support Adventurous Activities (AA) Training: Build knowledge and confidence in adventurous activities with opportunities to undertake or progress training.
Strengthen Our Leader Network: Connect with fellow leaders across the region – share stories, build relationships, and enjoy some well-deserved social time.
Share Program Ideas: Each participant is encouraged to bring one craft, game, or short activity to demonstrate.
Discuss Equity in Event Access: Open a dialogue on ways we can better support and fund participation in regional events.
Saturday Night Campfire: On Saturday evening, we’ll gather for a campfire to share songs, stories, and good company. If your group has any songbooks or skit materials, please bring them along to contribute to the evening's entertainment. Musicians are especially encouraged to bring their instruments.
Leader and Youth Input Welcomed
We are committed to creating an inclusive and responsive agenda. If there are topics you would like to host, or be covered, challenges you're seeking help with, or training you'd find valuable, please let Cassandra know ahead of time.
Before You Come
Please consult with your youth and bring along their ideas for activities, themes, and events they'd like to see in 2026.
