Activities include:
Building functional survival shelters using natural materials
Signalling for rescue using visual and audio methods
Collecting and purifying water from natural sources
Lighting and managing fires with limited resources
Cooking a basic meal in survival conditions
Creating and evaluating personal survival kits
Planning and leading survival-related activities (Stage 5)
Completing a simulated survival scenario under indirect supervision
This camp meets most of the practical components of Survival OAS Stage 4 and 5, and provides Scouts with the opportunity to lead and demonstrate their skills in a controlled, challenging environment.
Minimum Requirements to Register:
Must be at least 13 years old (Scout / Venturer)
Must have completed OAS Stage 3 – Bushcraft
