Brief Summary:

The camp is designed to introduce Scouts to the basics of leadership to better prepare them for taking on the role of Patrol Leader or Assistant Patrol Leader. The camp is divided into a number of sessions. Each session will include a practical and fun exercise intended to present participants with various leadership challenges. The participants are split into patrols and each patrol member will have at least two opportunities to take the lead in the practical sessions. The course will be held at Scout Camp Kariong and activities will be located throughout the campsite and surrounding areas.

Additional Information

Usual personal gear for a camp, including sleeping bag, sleeping mat/stretcher, wash kit, dilly bag, torch and at least two changes of clothing will be required. Tents will be provided.

Please wear your Scout uniform and comfortable walking shoes on Saturday. Bring a day pack containing, packed lunch/snacks for Saturday, rain jacket, sunscreen, jumper and water bottle.

Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast & Sunday lunch will all be provided. Please bring your own packed lunch and snacks for Saturday.

The Camp cost is $60.00. Please note that upon succesful completion of the leadership weekend, Gosford District Scouts will be able to submit a claim to the Chapman Fund for full reimbursement of the course cost. Please contact your Group Leader to arrange the reimbursement.

The leadership camp is conducted outside in a camp environment so be prepared for cool nights with the possibility (as always) for rain.

This being a leadership camp, participants are expected to present themselves in exemplary fashion and behavior is expected to be of the highest standard - what would be expected from a leader.
