The Time Has Come

To Find The Best

Cub Scout Cooks in Blacktown-Holroyd District!

Activity Overview

Working as an activity patrol, you and 3-6 of your friends will need to plan and cook a 2-course meal for yourselves and our judging panel. It's gonna be a lot of fun, it's gonna be messy, and you could even get an SIA Badge!!!

Did we mention the best two patrols will proceed to the next weekend to the Region Cookout to see who are the best Cub Cooks in the Region!?!

Your leaders have all the rules and can help you plan for this great event...

Who can come

Any cubs who are members of a unit in the Blacktown-Holroyd District are welcome to form an activity patrol. You can be assisted by leaders or parents within the rules.

All people on site (including Leaders and Parents) must register for the event.

Membership Requirements

All members must remain financial and registered within ScoutHub from the time applications close until the end of the event.

All service and line leaders over the age of 18 must be cleared by Scouts Australia NSW to work with children and young people before the start of the event. This includes any adult helpers and support staff.

Equipment

Each unit is responsible for bringing their food and equipment for the event. Units will be given a defined space to work within and need to ensure that they have all the equipment required. Units should bring a water container, there is water available on site.

Feeling Safe at Cook Out

Everyone in Scouts, youth and adults alike has the right to feel safe and be protected from abuse. No one is allowed to threaten you, hurt you, or touch you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or afraid.

A Scout is respectful, and this applies to all interactions between all participants, youth and adults at Jamborette.

You do not have to deal with abuse on your own. If you feel unsafe, or threatened, or you see/hear something that causes you concern, please speak to a Leader or Rover on an activity. Your concerns will be taken seriously. The information you provide will be shared with people who can support and protect you.

If you don’t know what to do – speak to someone at Cook HQ!.

If, for any reason, you do not feel the concerns of this nature that you raised at Jamborette have been satisfactorily dealt with, please report your concerns directly to the Child Protection Team at the NSW State Office on 02 9735 9000 or via ChildProtection@nsw.scouts.com.au or your parents.
