Additional Information

Participants will be accompanied by an adventurous activity guide or instructor. This 75 km route includes sealed roads, fire trail and walking track. Track grades are medium & hard with some extended steep ascent/decent sections. We recommend this for youth members who have already completed at least one overnight hike & who are comfortable carrying a loaded pack. This involves extended strenuous physical activity and endurance.

This is the northern most section of the Great North Walk. On its journey it traverses farmland, mountain ranges and coastal environments. The route begins in the picturesque Congewai Valley and then gradually climbs, undulates and sweeps dramatically through the Watagans National Park and adjoining State Forests before descending to sea level near Warners Bay. It then follows the coast through Glenrock State Recreation Area and continues to Queens Wharf Newcastle.
