Abseiling weekend for Scouts, Venturers and Rovers. Learn all about abseiling OAS Levels 1-6.

This event is limited to the first 20 Scouts, Venturers and rovers to register.

Rovers and Leaders who are current members of the abseil team are invited to apply to assist in the running of the activity.

Other adults and leaders are able to attend in a supervisory capacity only, there is no gaurantee that you will abseil at this activity.

Details of the activity: The purpose of this weekend is to learn and enjoy abseil skills for those who are interested in Vertical Skills .

Please bring your current log book or OAS record if you have them.

The weekend will be held at Kookaburra Camping and Caravan Park, 12km north of Deepwater.Turn left into Castlerag road. The site is very clearly signposted.

The cost of the camp is $40.00 for 2 days which is a site access fess $10 per day, $15 gear maintenance fee & $ 5 Region Fee administration fee - $20.00 needs to be paid to Lando in CASH on the Saturday Morning to pay for the use of the facilities.

Participants will require tents organised by thier groups. Youth will be camping in section tents.Camping will be adjacent to the camp kitchen which only contains a woodfire BBQ.

There is no electricity or refrigeration. Bathrooms and showers are available for use on site.

Please bring all your own food, cooking equipment, utensils and water for two days remote camping. Including tent, sleeping bag, blanket , long sleeve shirts, long plants, sleep wear,underwear, broad brimmed hat, enclosed shoes / boots , toiletries , medication.

All food and cooking equipment, drink bottle. Each home group will be required to bring 10 Litres of drinking water.

Every participant will be required to wear long sleeved collared shirts and long pants (preferably cotton - no nylon clothing) and sturdy footwear, when abseiling. Every participant must supply their own leather gloves (not synthetic).
