The camp runs from Friday evening until 2:00 pm Monday and will be held at Cataract Scout Park near Appin.  This year, participants will travel through time and experience all the greatest hits of the 20th Century and Beyond.. - Who knows what is around the corner?

Who can come

The event is open to Scout Aged participants (11 to 15) who are registered with, or transitioning into a Scout Unit at the time of the event. Cubs Scouts aged 10 by 7th June 2023 (subject to Group Council approval). Venturers, Rovers, Leaders & Fellowship members are welcome to attend and are asked to put together some amazing activities for the weekend.

We strongly encourage groups outside of the Greater Western Sydney Region to apply to attend the event and we would love to have you join us.

Camping

All participants will be camping in self-sufficient unit campsites spaced around the park. Camp sites will be clustered by section and district and will allocated by Jamborette HQ ahead of the event. Units should not assume they will be camping in the same locations as previous years.

Catering for this event is organised within the Unit and will be subject to additional fees as determined by each unit. Your unit leaders will be able to provide more information on this and the cost will be communicated to you by your unit leaders.

Membership Requirements

All members must remain financial and registered within ScoutHub from the time applications close until the end of the event.

All service and line leaders over the age of 18 must be cleared by Scouts Australia NSW to work with children and young people before the start of the camp. This includes any adult helpers and support staff.

Carers for youth or adults should contact Jamborette ahead of applying for the weekend to be briefed on the requirements for registration.

Activity Bases

Each district/group/unit that wishes to run an activity base must complete the online activity registration form (https://forms.office.com/r/TqLiKiJjeM) and attach a risk assessment by the closing date.  Remember if you get stuck, that is OK, just reach out and ask!

Each Scout section district is asked to provide at least 2 bases per district if leader numbers allow.

Feeling Safe at Jamborette

Everyone in Scouts, youth and adults alike has the right to feel safe and be protected from abuse. No one is allowed to threaten you, hurt you, or touch you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or afraid.

A Scout is respectful, and this applies to all interactions between all participants, youth and adults at Jamborette.

You do not have to deal with abuse on your own. If you feel unsafe, or threatened, or you see/hear something that causes you concern, please speak to a Leader or Rover on an activity. Your concerns will be taken seriously. The information you provide will be shared with people who can support and protect you.

If you don’t know what to do – speak to someone at Jamborette HQ.

If, for any reason, you do not feel the concerns of this nature that you raised at Jamborette have been satisfactorily dealt with, please report your concerns directly to the Child Protection Team at the NSW State Office on 02 9735 9000 or via ChildProtection@nsw.scouts.com.au or your parents.
